Welcome back to my blog. This week I will be sharing a makeup review with you. I have been using Love The Planet UK’s foundation, concealer, blush* and powder for quite a few months now. The affordability and zero waste options really made me obsessed with this brand!

Makeup shades:

Vegan mineral foundation – Fair

Vegan mineral concealer – Light

Vegan Translucent Perfecting Powder

Vegan mineral natural blusher – Pink

*The blush was sent to me in exchange for a review on Instagram. The other products were purchased with my own money. All opinions are my own.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

I was so impressed that the packaging was plastic free. All of the products came in compostable pouches apart from the blush which arrived in a metal container.

The pouch is made from paper, starch and cellulose film. It will biodegrade in home compost!

MY EXPERIENCE

The foundation was a good match for my skin tone. Usually brands don’t have the right undertone or aren’t porcelain enough for me. At first I found the foundation and concealer cakey and messy. I wasn’t used to mineral makeup, since I used liquid foundation prior.

Mineral foundation

I found that after learning to use the foundation properly it wasn’t cakey! I needed to apply a little at a time, and twirl it completely into my brush. If I apply the concealer on the undereye darkness directly rather than right under the lower eyelid, this helps with the creasing.

The setting powder is basically invisible, its magic! I always use a powder puff to apply followed by a big fluffy brush to brush off the excess. The blush is such a gorgeous colour. It’s so easy to build up!

SUMMARY

I really love these products! The main downsides is that they can be a little messy. The foundation shade range is lacking. Although I sometimes struggle to find foundation to match my very light skin tone. Black people and people of colour always struggle to find foundation to match their skin tone.

I love they are they so affordable and zero waste. It’s so easy to refill your own jars or even makeup containers!
